Proposed Backpacker Tax

Proposed Backpacker Tax

The Federal Government is proposing to introduce a so called ” Backpacker Tax” for Working Holiday Visa Holders from July 1 2016. This new tax will see all working holiday makers taxed as non-residents at a rate of 32.5% on all income.

The National Farmers Federation is strongly against the proposed changes and has set up an online petition in an attempt to stop the government from going ahead with the changes.

You can help the NFF by signing the petition at https://www.change.org/p/australian-government-stop-the-backpacker-tax
